The Manchester NAACP is a volunteer organization dedicated to achieving equality, political rights, and social inclusion by advancing policies and practices that expand human and civil rights, eliminate discrimination, and accelerate the well-being, education, and economic security of Black people and all persons of color.
We do this by in the Greater Manchester area in the areas of:
- Advocacy: Assisting people of color who have encountered discrimination or have been unjustly treated
- Education: Ensuring that youth of color are educated on how to live in a world where they are not necessarily given the tools to succeed and holding the Manchester School District accountable for providing equitable education opportunities.
- Economic Justice: Assisting people of color to grow wealth as individuals through business assistance or financial assistance.
- Environment/Climate Justice: Eliminating pollution and encouraging safe spaces
- Health Justice: Ensuring equal access to health through dedicated health programs and clinics
- Monthly General Membership Meetings: Educating organizations and individuals about the effects of racism and provide a space where issues can be discussed.
