Other Programs and Opportunities

In addition, the Discovery Center offers monthly educational programs such as Super Stellar Friday, Universe Unplugged, Scout visits and even our annual Alex Higgins Memorial Space Camp Scholarship that provides funding for a young New Hampshire student to experience the U.S. Space Camp & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama.

Homeschool Programs

Activities are designed to be active, hands-on, open-ended explorations that require creative, out-of-the-box thinking—the kind of thinking that has always fueled the imaginations of scientists, artists, makers, mathematicians, and creators. Classes meet twice a month on the first and third Mondays, with the option of two sessions for each class.

STEM Summer Camps

Families can take advantage of our STEM Summer Camps, each week offers a chance to learn about science, technology, engineering, and math! From rockets to weather, ecology to dinosaurs—each camp has a unique theme created by our educators for different age groups to enjoy while learning! Scholarships available.

Outreach Programs

For schools and other organizations that can’t come to the Discovery Center, we can go to them with our outreach programs. We offer several programs that vary from highly hands-on workshops to exciting and engaging demonstrations, including: Mini Paper Rockets, a Traveling Planetarium, Telescopes to Go, and ISS: Living and Working in Space, a workshop featuring several activities that demonstrate what it’s like to be an astronaut. These programs are popular with libraries, community centers, and schools that would require a lot of travel time to visit.

Field Trips

The Discovery Center welcomes thousands of students for onsite field trips every year. Field trips offer schools the opportunity to explore the exhibit galleries and watch a planetarium show for a more accessible cost than regular general admission.

The 2025-26 school year price is $9 per person, with one chaperone for every 10 students receiving free admission. Next Generation Science Standards include Earth and space science topics in each K-12 grade level, making the Discovery Center the perfect place to expand and enhance classroom lessons. Thanks to a recent foundation grant, we can offer free on-site or outreach education programming to schools in New Hampshire with 40% or more of students qualifying to receive free or reduced lunch.
