Family Strengthening and Preservation Services

Because sometimes families encounter multiple obstacles to their stability and wellness, Waypoint has an array of services to help families at-risk to heal, overcome challenges, build resilience and skills, and gain the tools and resources they need to provide safe, nurturing home environments for their children, and improve long-range family functioning and independence. For a complete list and description of this service array: https://waypointnh.org/programs/familypreservation.

Family Support

Because children don’t come with a “How to Raise Me” guidebook, Waypoint’s Family Resource Centers offer an array of family support services for families with children ages 0-21. Services are designed to help your family through any type of challenge, whether it’s first time parenting, making ends meet, parental substance misuse, housing or employment instability, child wellness, child behaviors, education, or emotional stressors. Services may be provided in the comfort of your family home, or anywhere else you feel comfortable in the community.

Peer-to-peer grief support groups

The Friends of Aine Center, located in Manchester, NH, provides FREE peer-to-peer support groups for grieving children, teens, and families.  In New Hampshire, 1 in 12 children will experience the death of a parent or sibling before age 18.  Childhood bereavement is a prevalent and critical public health issue that can have a profound impact on a child’s future wellbeing.  Friends of Aine is the only non-profit organization in NH whose sole mission is to support grieving families.

LAUNCH at Amoskeag Health

LAUNCH Manchester provides this optional program to families with young children ages (0-8) and pregnant women who receive health services at Amoskeag Health. LAUNCH provides families with access to a variety of internal resources and external referrals to ensure all young children and their families have what they need to thrive. Families may receive access to: concrete supports to meet immediate needs, financial empowerment tools, support accessing and managing state benefits, support with existing service coordination and referrals to community resources like family support, mental health, tax assistance and Family Centered Early Supports and Services among others.

Ready Set LAUNCH at Amoskeag Health

Ready Set LAUNCH is a FREE, one-time newborn home visit service available to all Manchester residents who give birth at the Elliot Hospital. After giving birth, families are introduced to the Newborn Navigator who will explain the service and inquire about scheduling the visit. Visits are currently occurring remotely. Prior to the visit, participants will receive a Welcome Baby Bag with newborn essentials. During the visit, the Newborn Navigator will support the family by understanding how their transition from the hospital home has been, inquire about existing needs, and provide access to community resources and referrals.

Should the Newborn Navigator determine a family is eligible and could benefit from Enhanced Navigation, an additional five home visits will be provided. These additional visits will provide additional resources and targeted support to address specific needs

Baby Storytime

This storytime is for 6-24 months and will meet on Friday mornings at 10am.  We will be social distancing for this program so space is limited and registration is required for your family group.
